Dow Chemicals Delays Expansion Plans in Louisiana

The 100-million pound (45,000 metric ton) ethanolamines nameplate capacity expansion planned at the St. Charles Operations (SCO) site, owned by Union Carbide Corporation (UCC), a wholly owned subsidiary of The Dow Chemical Company, in Hahnville, LA will be delayed until the second half of 2008. According to the company, the decision to delay the project is due to a tight labor supply throughout the Gulf ­Coast region....
